Hello We're there any significant changes happenings for 2017 that I should be aware of trying to buy a rent control property in and around Oakland? Anything that passed? 1. How hard is it to increase rent once I purchase a property to get a decent Roi? With no backup rent increase on the property? 2. Passing capitalization cost to tenants? What is it cap at and is it hard to do?

I would like to recommend you sign up for http://www.ebrha.com/property-owners/. It is the East Bay Rental Housing Association and they keep up on local data you will need based on what type of property you buy, be it a single family home, or duplex etc. They also offer classes to their members to keep up with local policy.
