If you're looking for someone to help you with income tax, there are professionals in addition to CPAs who can do that type of work - often for lower fees. CPAs are just one type of license, although the most well known. Another type of tax professional, Enrolled Agents (EA) are licensed by the IRS. EAs and other tax preparers can be just as qualified to prepare and advise you on tax matters. Best of luck in your search!

I would prioritize finding an accountant who specializes in real estate taxation over one that is local.There are 20+ accountants on this message board who specialize in real estate taxation. Feel free to reach out to a couple and use the one you connect with the most.
