Is it still illegal to put up signs that “you buy houses” on your own front lawn?

I'm not sure. It's your land. I do know that many municipalities have sign ordinances and a permitting process. Beyond that thought, I'm not of much use, but I'm curious on this.

Perfectly legal since it is your land with the exception of - if you are in an HOA community which has CC&Rs that disallow it. Any time we have a co structuring site, we have some of our sub contractor signs hung on the construction fence, our own signs of coming soon for sale signs, and many others have we buy homes signs on each of their construction projects. Perfectly legal, at least here in CA.
