I am wanted to learn more about investing in Tax Liens, where is the best education on this subject, went to TaxLien BuyersClub meeting this weekend, sounds good they want about $1800 to join, but I am skeptical about a scam, any thoughts would be appreciated.
Check out Amazon. There are some very good books on Tax liens investing.
@Richard Licon - What are your goals for investing in tax liens? Since California is a tax deed state and not a tax lien state, where do you plan on buying tax liens?
Each state is different on how tax liens are handled so you need to become an expert in the state you wish to invest.

I would not join the Tax Lien Buyers club. I suggest you check out this post
Jerry and Ned Thanks for your response, I am wanting to initially gain general knowledge about tax lien investing, I am aware that each State has their own requirement. I am not sure of where or who to go to to learn more about this avenue of Real Estate investing.
I was at a seminar this past weekend and Tax Lien Buyers Club was featured I came very close to joining them, and now not so much, Thanks for all the great advise!
@Richard Licon Are you looking to get the underlying property or are you more interested in just getting a good interest rate return on your money?
@Richard Licon there are a lot of posts here on BP about tax liens. I set up a keyword alert for both tax sale and tax lien so I get notified whenever there is a post containing them. The advantage here is many investors have very specific details of their state tax sale laws.
I have heard a good general book is The Sixteen Percent Solution. I learned a lot by reading the state statutes online and early on I took a tax sale attorney out for breakfast. He was happy to tell me anything in hopes of getting a new client.
I've been interested in buying tax liens for a couple years now and, I want to know where can I obtain a list of tax liens from every tax lien state? I want to start investing ASAP.
@Eric Perkins There is no one source that I know of that has all the tax liens available for every state. Not all states are tax lien states. Some sell tax deeds which means you are getting deed/title immediately.
It is a very fractured "industry" because it is governed by state laws, usually handled at the county level - all on disparate systems. Some areas the city handles the tax sales, some states like Arkansas handle the deed sales at the state level.
Some counties have certificates available all the time, most have a sale once a year. You have to pick your state/county/city and begin to look at if/how they sell tax liens and the rules for buying, holding, selling, foreclosing, etc.
