Tax Sale Title Insurane in Texas

Help me understand the Title Insurance aspect of Tax Sale properties. If I buy an empty lot (non homestead) at the tax sale, I have to wait 6 months for the redemption period. Does title insurance matter if I have a cash buyer, or is it just needed for a buyer using a bank loan to buy the lot? Or am I just stuck waiting on the Title Company for however many years? Thanks

I think in most cases you will have to wait two years to get title insurance.

It's not just the redemption period that is an issue, but also the right to contest the sale if they weren't notified properly.

Check in with your regular title company.....see what their rules are....see what their advice is..and if they have any alternative solutions.
