Does anyone have any investment experience with Boarding Houses in Pittsburgh? I'm interested in this asset class, but know so little about it.

I am not sure if a Boarding House and Hostel are the same thing but I know there is a a hostel on the south side a friend stayed at while visiting once. I believe this was it:
You should be able to reach out to the owners to talk with this about their experiences, my buddy said they were pleasant.
Sorry for the ignorance.

Hi again, Clayton. I know a guy who runs a place. Doesn't speak English, does most of his advertising through Craigslist, tends to rent to ethnic Russians like him in a very small, very local Russian neighborhood right between the two Russian groceries on Greenfield Avenue. Not sure if this is the kind of rooming house business you want to get involved in.

@Clayton Hepler I would make absolutely sure the municipality you are in allows this type of business. If you get a neighbor complain and contact the local government they could shut you down. I have experience with Air B and B and some municipalities have shut Air B and B down.
