What type of real estate are you talking about here - residential or commercial, how big, etc.? I'm always looking for contacts in Austin, and have some good people to pass on, but that's just in the commercial realm...I'm not sure that will help.

I'm in San Antonio TX and am always looking to network with other investors. I do commercial consulting, find deals for buyers and sellers, do invesment banking and fill bulk custom REO portfolios. Let me know if we can connect and help one another out. Thanks.

There is a REI club in Cedar Park, just north west of Austin. I'm assuming it's only for residential investing, but I could be wrong. I'm going to my first meeting with them today at 6:30. They meet at Cedar Perk Coffee shop the last Tuesday of every month. I'll let you guys know if it's any good later this evening.

REICA was just sold to another investor. Ken originally bought it from a Realtor, Bob Guest, so had to make money from it. They lost a following because it was a sales pitch every meeting. The new buyers had no idea what they were getting into and it appears the books were not correct, so they're trying to figure out how to make money without it being a pitch.

Austin RENC is where the better investors go.

Could you give me more insight to differences between REICA and RENC? There is a REICA meeting tonight, but if all they're going to do is sell me stuff, I'll skip it.

Any members frequent Austin RENC?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi, I am from Austin and new to REI. Looking to network from with other investors and possibly find a mentor in the near future. Any comments on RENC would be really appreciated. From researching REICA it sounded the meetings might be more about pitching some high priced classes. Thanks in advance.

I am in the San Antonio Area. Always looking to network and do deals with investors. I am doing and Educational meeting here in San Antonio and my group is all about learning and networking. There are always new ways to do deals. We have creative financing and we mentor newbies.

Our meeting is on the first Thursday of the month.

Commercial Deal Network Group is a Focused Group on income producing commercial properties.

We are now expanding after we just merged with NSIC National Strategic Investment Corporation and we now have several investment venues including but not only Commercial and Residential and investment in anything but Bonds and Stocks.

Interesting. In this 3 year old thread, I don't recognize hardly anyone as still being around on BP from this thread. San Antonio is still a great area, imo. Maybe they're all out working! Rich
