Looking for suggestions on the most cost effective direct mail service provider. Would like one that allows for an automated campaign with any duration chosen. What do you recommend?

There are none that I particularly "like" because of the cost. If I was less concerned about the cost, through all of my research, I would say SendOutCards at $0.31-$0.39 per card including the mailing, printing, and hassle factor. Lots of companies offer less for direct printing, although the mailing piece can be costly, and the quantity of cards ordered can be unreasonable. Postage is still postage no matter whom you use.

But as I am a DIY agent type, and keeping my costs low keeps allows me to keep my fees low. I just use a spreadsheet where I organize my campaigns, and then self-print regularly with an ink-jet printer using card stock and a paper cutter. I am not SO busy that I can't do that piece myself as my DIY option is $0.12 per card versus the other options. Savings adds up fast although economies of scale is an issue as you do more and more. To me, economies of scale is less of an issue, as I am continually scrubbing and adding to my list.
