Ok am looking to wholesale some properties, what is the best approach to direct mail for just getting started? Should I be hiring people to write the handwritten letters for me at .50 a letter or should I invest it into a computer program that prints this out for me? I am looking to market to absentee owners, and probate sales specifically and plan to use handwritten letters the first time, then post cards within a month. What would you guys recommend as far as to handwrite these myself or find a program that is easy. thanks PS just started wholesaling

Letters are more expensive than post cards so I am curious on your thought process to send out an expensive mailing piece first, then follow up with an inexpensive one?

How do you expect to obtain your lists? Probate leads can be extremely expensive. I know because I buy them. Unless you plan on going to the court house to pull them yourself, your upfront cost for the list is going to be very high. If you plan on pulling them yourself, do you know what to look for?

If you plan on doing campaigns with letters and handwriting them, or hiring people to hand write them, please be sure to find a good carpal tunnel surgeon first. You also might want to get a workers comp attorney. I have a friend who was sued by an employee he had hand writing letters because she claimed it gave her carpal tunnel. She won.

It is an automated World. Buy some yellow paper, purchase a handwritten font online, and experiment with it until you get the correct alignment.

The biggest problem with real estate investors jumping into the direct mail method of attracting leads, is that almost none of them study direct marketing. You can spend a lot of money sending mail and get zero response because your message and/or media is incorrect or mismatched.

Here is the basic formula:
Topic -> Audience -> Info -> Method of delivery

Good luck!
