Is there room for individual investors in the Houston MTR market

Hi,  I have been wanting to get started in the mid term rental market for a while now.  Yesterday I found 6 corporate owned apartment buildings in the medical center area that are fully furnished and equipped and market to nurses.   I am now wondering if any  individual investors currently successfully market to travel nurses or if they all have been squeezed out by the corporations.  Condos in that area are difficult to find below market and I would like to have an exit strategy if the renting to traveling nurses fails.   Thank you so much for reading my post and if you have any insight into this particular market I would love to hear from you.  :-)

You should be able to easily compete with corporate investors.

Corporations normally have larger overhead - Admin, marketing, office building, etc

Yes, maybe they have more people fully dedicated to the business full-time but from an overhead standpoint, a small investor should always be able to compete with a larger investor.
