Code Violation List LA County
Hey BP family, I’m attempting to obtain the code violation list here in Southern California in LA County. I’ve spoke to multiple people and have had most of them tell me this list doesn’t exist or isn’t public record. Has anyone had any luck obtaining this list?
Los Angeles County is made up of many jurisdictions for example:
Incorporated Cities have their own governments (city council) that pass local laws called municipal codes so if you were in the City of blank, then you would look under that cities municipal codes to find their building codes and building violations. City of Los Angeles, City of Torrance, City of Downy, City of Hawthorne are some example of incorporated cities within Los Angeles County.
There are also unincorporated areas in Los Angeles County. These areas are governed by the LA County board of Supervisors. Areas like Palmdale, Lancaser, Lennox, Del Aire are examples of areas covered by Los Angeles County building codes.
So first you need to determine the proper jurisdiction your property. After this is determined then you can just look up the appropriate municipal code or LA county code on google.
