There is a great grassroots organization here in Austin called AURA. They focus on advocating for improved land use and transportation through policy analysis, public involvement, and political engagement. As soo as the new code draft was released they spent the entire weekend analyzing and commenting on the draft. You can find their high level takeaways in the link below.

I might hit you up soon Travis! I lend private money for spec builds and developments here in Austin. Always like to have a second opinion of the viability of projects before we close them. Especially with the new Land Development Code on the horizon. I am part of an organization here called the Austin Infill Coalition. Good group to be a part of if you want to try and shape that code!

Let me know if you ever know of investors needing capital for projects.

There's a great event in Houston called the "Investment Real Estate Roundtable". Next one will be 10/16, 9am at Down House in the heights. The same company is actually booting one up in Austin as well.

I lend private money on these types of deals Mason. Usually not that low, but always happy to make an exception in order to start a new relationship. Even if we can't come to an agreement I'm confident I could set you up with someone who can throw some quick and easy debt on it for you.

Welcome Tyler,

I actually host a few events here in Austin @Peter Schaub PM me if you're interested in attending. I know it's kind of late notice, but there is a great one tonight at 6 called The Cash Flow Party located at The Gatsby downtown. I highly recommend stopping by tonight if you have the time as they have a great speaker.

I also lend on flips here in town and would be happy to chat about that as well.

I am definitely curious to see this, but when you say "tied down" I'm guessing this is a mobile home? It  is extremely difficult to find land in Austin that allows for mobile homes.

Joseph, for the most part, ADU's in Austin must be on lots over 5,750 square feet and can be no larger than .15 of the total lot size (FAR).
