I grew up in a small town (NorCal), learned a strong work ethic being raised on a family farm and worked my way thru college doing construction work: commercial and residential plumbing primarily.  Re-hab’d for a partner in Sacto, CA back in the 80s - before Fix-N-Flip existed on TV - he had the money, I had the construction skills.  Loved it, then moved on with life (for some reason).  I’m happily married, with two great kids, a solid career, and have gotten more out of life than I probably deserved!😀

Am interested in partnering on some projects again, as I still enjoy the labor side, but want to learn much more about the nuance and strategies of RE Investing (thus BiggerPockets and considering the RE Exam).  “Plan” is to Fix-N-Flip for 3-5 years and build a warchest with the long-term objective of acquiring multi-family properties for long-term income and wealth-building (for my partners, my children, and their children).  First step is always the hardest so securing a strong team of like-minded, hard working people is primary on my list (but I’m patient and conservative).  Not much interest in slick talkers, shuck-n-jive pitches, or get-rich-quick schemers...but that’s just me.  😉

@Jeff Wallenius @Jonathan Halverson - newbie question: can you please help me understand the term ‘accredited investor’?  Not familiar with that.

Sean - it doesn't appear that you can loan in TX?  Is this incorrect?
