Hey BP community!
First I would like to say thanks to everyone who dedicates the time to help people out. I enjoy the community feel and do hope I get to contribute as I learn more.
You're right, get to the point! So has anyone had any luck or is it even possible to use a FHA or VA loan to purchas a house set up for auction? In your experience do you think banks have an issue trying to give out those type of loans?

I'm currently in Waldorf. I don't plan on staying in this area though so I'm very open to suggestions as long as I'm not dropping half a million which seems to be the norm around this area lol.

Hello BP!
I did some searching on my own but I tend to come across a lot of guru type meet ups. I'm currently living in the southern MD area but do not mind driving a bit. I figured it would just be easier to ask the community and see if someone has gone to, or recommends any great meet ups. I'm new to real estate investing, I have house hacked (a condo, so i know a little bit about what not to do lol) but I'm looking to purchase my first non-owner occupied home and would love to meet people. If there is anyone looking for a volunteer to help them out with their business as well, I feel that would be a great way to learn hands on in exchange for me hounding them with questions and gaining as much knowledge as possible.
Shoot, while I'm at it (lol), does anyone recommend a great real estate agent as well in maryland? I plan on purchasing a primary June/July.
I know I'm needy. Thank you so much for the help in advance?

I'm from hawaii and just moved to maryland. I'm also military so if there are any questions please let me know. I know the vast majority of the area pretty well. As a start, if you're looking up there, I feel the best values on the island of oahu will come from kapolei, salt lake and pearl city/aiea. The vast majority of people i know prefer to rent in those areas. Kapolei/Ewa beach i feel personally will be a bit cheaper as most single families go for over 300/400.

Anyone know of any books that got them started in investing? Searched around but wanted to know what everyone else used as a way to learn the financial side to it. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thank you!! =)
