@Austin Fruechting That's also a very good point Austin. I'm learning quickly you need to adjust the percentages in the calculators when you're looking at the dollar amount it will create when anticipating different rental rates. So thank you for this perspective!

@Drew Bonner Thank you so much for this perspective. I'm going to use this on the property I'm calculating now as well as a few more coming in the upcoming weeks. I've yet to have a tenant move out so this is good to know what to expect down the line. I sincerely appreciate your answer and insight!

Thank you so much for this answer! I'm so glad to know the Capex calculation here is for the house as a whole. And I really appreciate your suggestion to be conservative and go with 10% for older homes (which is the one we're looking at now).

I can't express how happy I am now to understand that piece of the puzzle! May I ask do you do the same estimate for repairs when you assume 10% capex on an older house?

Hi everyone, 

I'm running the numbers on a 4 plex I'm considering buying and I wanted to know if the capex on the rental calculator is calculating a % of each unit - so if it shows 150 for repairs that's repairs for that unit or for the entire house?
