Thanks for your quick response Antoine.

So I'm wondering how to get an accurate repair cost assumption before buying the house if I have the GC visit the site after I hold the contract to the house?  Or am I misunderstanding the concept of a "contract" in your response, which is to hold the title to the house?

Hello everyone,

I have a very general question for the BP community.  Past few days I've shared my idea to my friends during dinner that I want to go into real estate flipping.  One question they asked me and I'm not sure how to answer this, which is how do you find a good general contractor given they now and can flip houses themselves as well?

That is a good point...why would they work with newbies like me when they can just flip the house themselves?

What prevents them from going behind my back and flip the house after we do a walk through and before I purchase the house?  FYI the reason for this suggested method is to have the GC get as accurate of a quote as possible for my assumption analysis.

Thanks for listening in.

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know of a good real estate attorney in the San Jose area that can provide good consultation for beginner investor like me?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Nick for the great advise. That is definitely one of the recommendations as well and will deposit it in the "non-LLC" bucket. And thanks for the welcome! :)

Hello Everyone,

My name is Andy and new to real estate investing.  I'm currently doing my homework before initiating my first investment.  I'm looking into flipping houses around Northern California area and want to know should I incorporate myself before I rehab my first home?  I've asked several people about this online and got different answers.  Want to see if anyone here can provide their opinion on this as well.

After doing plenty of poking around, I have come to a realization that there are many ways to start this business, but I want to start it with model that minimizes risk.

Thanks for listening in!!
