Its not hatred. The breed is aggressive; that is a fact. Anyone denying it is just delusional. For the most part, the problem isnt the breed, its the owners. I am NOT of the crowd that says its how they are raised. They have been bred to be aggressive for generations and generations. You cant stop that any more than you can stop them from breathing air. They are a dangerous dog in the hands of people who refuse to control them. I will not be within 100 yards of one, not because of the dog (which I know is an aggressive breed) but because of the owners who let them run free, lets them mingle with other dogs, lets them around kids. If you dont think temperment and breed type isnt bred into dogs, look at this video:

Just noticed this thread, and this house is still for sale with some major drops in price. House looks nice; hard to believe it hasnt sold yet.

It certainly seems the pendulum has swung all the way to favor tenants. Theres lots and lots of people who dont care to live around dogs, yet they can have someone move in next door to their "no pets allowed" apartment with a Pit Bull, or 3. Ive read dozens of these threads, and it seems that landlords have to fight fire with fire. The only reasonable option that Ive seen for landlords is to simply rent month to month.

It seems to me that landlords have absolutely no recourse when it comes to bogus emotional support animals. The only thing I can think of is to only have month to month leases. Then you can terminate your lease.

I think the whole trick is can they find something comparable for cheaper. It sounds like they cant. They will see that even with the slight raise, you are below the local rent. Im betting they stay.

Im no landlord, but theres no way I would do that. If they can give you 1 years worth of rent, then they can put it in the bank and pay you each month. Ive read so many cases of renters who have ended up being horror stories; especially those that pay 1 year up front. Then you can't evict them, and are stuck with them. Why should landlords have to babysit people because they cant handle their own money? Especially if the wife has a 803 credit score. Doesnt pass the sniff test to me. Why cant the lease be put in the wifes name?

Not a service dog. It was a so called Emotional Support dog. I can see landlords trying to get legislation passed against these Emotional Support scams. Something has to be done about this. Landlords have absolutely no recourse against these dogs who can not only do damage to houses, but can injure other people.

You told the applicants you would give them an answer in 3 days; what if you dont? I dont see where thats grounds for a law suit. Unless you have a state law where you are required to give them a reason why you are denying them, then just keep it simple. If they somehow get back with you, tell them you are still screening applicants. I know there are laws about discrimination, but it is your property, and as long as you are abiding by them, I think you can put in there anyone you want. Keep looking.
