@Dylan Murray

Credibility comes from doing. Become really good at what you do in a specific area and people will recognize who you are. Build your brand and over time you will get there

@Dylan Murray I agree with @Chris Seveney

The best mentor is the one you come by organically by growing your network and by going about your business. It’s a relationship that happens naturally as a consequence as you pursue your goals with integrity and passion.

Quote from @Marcus Auerbach:

@Arn Cenedella - good list. You can add inflation to the pro side. If we remain elevated for the next 2-3 years you 2022 purchase will look really good in hind sight.

Good point!

From an investment point of view, to beat inflation, you should be where the highest inflation is, and that is multifamily housing.

Quote from @Josh Harper:

I have heard a few times now about syndications. Can you tell me more?

To borrow a well used illustration...when you fly on a passenger plane you are part of a syndication...which basically means people pooling their resources to purchase something they could never afford on their own. In a multifamily syndication you pool your resources with other investors to buy an apartment building, a passive investor or Limited Partner is like a passenger on that plane and the General Partners are like the pilots. They are the ones who do all the heavy lifting.

@Victor Olvera I must say the advice from @Don Spafford is very good.

Just a thought, have you considered starting out by passive investing?

A lot of expert apartment investors started out with passive investing. This gave them an introduction to the real world of investing and let them to build on their education in the world of multifamily investing before taking on active investing.

As a passive investor you can legitimately ask questions of the sponsor. Depending on the amount of money you invest, the sponsor will be willing to spend some time educating you about the deal.

You can ask to see the deed, the market research, the underwriting, the appraisals, inspections, and property financials, and ask questions about each aspect of the deal.

Ideally, you will be furthering your education and getting a good return on your investment at the same time

Very interesting and potentially highly educational post, thanks Jason. Some good questions have been posed in the thread so far which I also had in mind. Looking forward to your further comments.
