@Chris Penn is the housing dependent on a single employer? If so, that would be a huge red flag to me. I am not at all familiar with your area but if your entire business plan is dependent on one company's actions, I'd be very weary.

@Vijay Prabhakaran are you living in the unit and renting out rooms on Airbnb or are you renting out the entire space?

@Kevin Lefeuvre Homesuite is a website that targets these customers. It's a platform similar to airbnb or vrbo but for corporate stays with a 30 day minimum yourhomesuite.com

Full disclosure: I previously worked for Homesuite :)

@Mindy Jensen that is true, but traveling nurses tend to have very tight budgets from my experience. It won't equivocate to what you could get nightly through traditional Airbnb. If your property is in a location close to public transportation, companies, shops and restaurants though you can get any kind of corporate traveler (30 day +)

@Janeen Archer where is your property located? I have experience with corporate rentals and would be happy to weigh in.

Also, you don't need a business license in most states and 6-12 months is very hard to come by for corporate furnished. You'd be looking for more like 1-3 month bookings.

@Atish Shah Yes it can be very difficult to get into the market here in the bay. My colleague just purchased a duplex in the Sunset that he's house hacking. He was able to get a good deal on it because one of the units was just slightly under market and the other was significantly below. He owner occupied the unit that was significantly below market and kept the other tenants so now he is cash flow positive. There are still opportunities when you get creative.
