Hi @David Brown,

I live in Queens househacking and familiar with the market. Hot neighborhoods like Astoria, LIC, and Forest Hills, Kew Gardens and Glendale will continue to go up imo. Neighborhoods that are up and coming include Woodhaven, Richmond Hill, Ozone Park and Jamaica are still on the cheap end and getting a lot of attention. The home we recently purchased was straightforward with bank financing and help from family. Hope that helps.

@Michael G. personally love those neighborhoods too! Astoria is probably one of the more saturated neighborhood with many younger people all moved in. Still has room to grow of course.

Ridgewood is the other steady growing neighborhood, comparable to Glendale in my opinion. Ridgewood has the benefit of having the L train in certain areas but don't know how the suspension of the L train is going to impact these neighborhoods. imo investing in Ridgewood can't go wrong. Hope that helps.

I have friends who were telling me to look into Woodside a year ago (still affordable for Queens) when I was searching for a home and it has gone up so much already. It's now very diverse and competitive especially with many Asian investors, home buyers coming with cash ready. It is one of the most diverse neighborhood in the world, and I'm not surprised to see it become and surpass Rego Park and Jackson Heights. Note that Woodside is mostly residential. Hope that helps.

Hi all, just discovered this threat and very interested in getting an update from people since it's been almost a year. I'm most familiar with Queens and agree with what Betty said a lot.

My take on neighborhoods with room to grow.

Forest Hills is hands down my favorite neighborhood in Queens. Woodhaven, Richmond Hill and Jamaica (single/multi homes) have been really hot and I assume will be again when spring comes. Ozone Park and Far Rockaway are on the cheaper end and might appreciate at a faster rate than many other neighborhoods. Everywhere else is pretty saturated imo. There's also a steady trend of people moving to neighborhoods closer to Long Island such as Little Neck and Bay Side (no subways).

Limited knowledge with BK: Brownsville, East New York then Canarsie.

Again, looking to see what everyone else's take.

Greetings,

I'm new to the investing world and would love some advice on where I can find an expensive part time school to get my 70+ hours for the real estate agent license. I live in Queens NY and commuting to Manhattan won't be an issue. I'm not a big fan of studying online.

Appreciate you help.

Greetings,

Haven't had the experience myself yet, but an eviction at my close family's home in Canarsie Brooklyn took up 6 months. This is due to a delayed reaction as well.

I personally think that 2-3 months is reasonable if you have a competent lawyer, act right away and have tenants who aren't slick enough to find more loopholes. Hope that helps.

@Julie Marquez Thank you! Renovation going well so far, glad I get the opportunity to learn about it right now. And yes, I've actually been thinking about the design aspect for a while. Thanks for the acknowledgement!
