@Flavia Brown Will do! My question was more so directed as any particular books that other seasoned agents have felt are useful when starting out. Thanks for your input!

@Irene Nash Hey Irene! Thank you so much for your recommendations!! I’ll be sure to check those out. And yesss, I love audible. How I usually go about reading books is to first listen to them through audible, then get the physical copy and go through them again (a little more quickly than I typically would the first time through). I feel like this technique has really helped me get through more books faster and allows me to manifest the information in 2 different contexts. Again, thank you so much for the advice!

Hey guys! My name is Ben Morand and I am a 20 year old college student at the University of Florida. Recently, I completed my pre-licensing course and I am planning on taking my exam to become a licensed agent in mid-August.
I am wondering if anyone has some book recommendations for getting started as a new agent? I’m thinking in terms of actually getting leads, building connections, structuring systems, marketing, negotiation, etc. Not so much in terms of studying for the exam. I already have books and flash cards and practice tests for that.
The only big books I’ve heard of are the ones by Ryan Serhant. Are these good or are they more so motivational? If anyone has some other recommendations, I’d love to hear!
Thanks guys!

@Brandon Thomas @Lydia S. Thank you both so much for the insight! I haven’t yet interviewed with any brokerages. I was heavily considering KW because they are well-known to have the best agent training in the industry, but I’ll definitely have to look into the mentorship aspect of things as well. I appreciate both of your help with the situation!

@Kobe Xin Thanks so much Kobe! I’ve heard a lot about shadowing a mentor. Guess I’ve got some more networking to do! I appreciate the help!

Hey guys! My name is Ben Morand and I am a 20 year old college student at the University of Florida. So, I finished my fingerprints, pre-licensing course, and have been approved to take the exam for my real estate license and I am just wondering a few things about getting started.
So I know everyone has to start somewhere, but I am wondering if anyone has some tips as to lead generation and building credibility in the eyes of potential clients as a new agent? Are expired listings a good place to start? I’ve also heard of using ListSource and back tracing phone numbers, but I’m not exactly sure what criteria would be best for an agent trying to find clients.
Also, in terms of scripts, does anyone have any insight on how to come off as credible, or even just reliable, being a new agent with no prior sales? If anyone has any tips or stories to share, I’d be open to any and all feedback.
I appreciate the help guys!

@Frank Mongiello For sure! Our situations do seem pretty similar. I agree that house hacking is probably the best option. I might’ve been a bit ambitious, thinking that I have 2 years left in college so why not rent to someone else. But quite frankly, now is as good a time as ever to cut my rent expenses out of the picture! I’m sure you feel the same way. I haven’t looked much into the WPB market myself, but I’ve heard that rents have been growing like crazy so that’s never a bad thing to hear haha! I’d love to connect and keep in touch going forward!
