I'm glad to hear you discussed that with the tenants already, let us know how it works out!

Are you looking at investing in rentals in any other towns/cities or do you plan to  continue investing in Moosomin?

Have you discussed this with the tenant yet?

Try to get them to sign an amendment to the lease to include a payment due for a portion of the utility costs.

If you aren't able to recoup the extra utility costs, you can look into installing separate meters when the lease is renewed.

If you find tenants for the other space in the building, charge a monthly fee to help cover property taxes, utilities and maintenance.

I'm curious what town or city you are in? Was it difficult to find tenants?

About Me

I am born and raised in Saskatchewan, currently living in Regina. I have a background in accounting and currently work as a consultant.

Experience

I purchased my first property in Regina in December 2016. I renovated the property over the next two months and then moved into the house.

Real Estate Goals

In the short term, I want to acquire older properties in desirable areas to buy and hold.

Once I achieve my short term goal of investing locally, I want to invest in other geographic locations to diversify my portfolio. I want to learn more about the taxation and implications of investing in real estate in Canada and the United States.

Currently Seeking

I am looking for investors interested in Canadian Real Estate & investors in the United States with experience selling real estate to Canadians.
