Hey all! I am looking forward to attending my first BP networking event to hear other's thoughts in REI in the Charlotte area. Having relocated here about a year and half ago, I'd like to get a feel of good areas for SFR or multi-unit rentals in and around Charlotte. Looking forward to it!

@Aimee S. I did not have any further info about liability minimums. In the end, the tenant was told that renter’s insurance was required but never followed through. No true law requiring it.

Hello Huntsvile BiggerPocketers,

I am looking for a contractor to repair some shifted bricks noted by our property manager for our SFR in Huntsville. It is a standard, 1969 ranch home in North Huntsville that was renovated and inspected last year prior to us purchasing and renting it out. Does anybody have a good recommendation out there? I attached a picture for reference.

I have a SFR in Huntsville and want to make sure I am protected if a tenant's dog would injure someone on the property. The home is in my name and while we have liability insurance on the home as well as a personal umbrella policy, I wanted require that in order for a tenant to have dog, that they would need to have renter's insurance with animal related liability coverage. I understand that by having me as an additionally insured on their policy, I would be notified if they tried to cancel the coverage. With all of that being said, my PM stated that you cannot legally require that a tenant carry renter's insurance. Does anyone know if that is accurate for Alabama or are there any other avenues that I have not thought of?

Does anyone have any suggestions for someone to clean the gutters at our rental property in North Huntsville?  It's a one-story 1400 sq. ft. home and we keep getting quotes that are about $250 - which seems high since we paid less than that for our primary residence in Pittsburgh that was 2 stories high and on a hill so the back was like 4 stories high.  It was death-defying!  haha!  Just wondering if anyone has a handyman that they trust that is less than that or if that's the going rate in that area.  Thank you!

My wife and I recently moved to Charlotte from Pennsylvania and love it here...except for the 2 hurricanes and current snowstorm which I am assured by everyone is not normal.  Or our fault for bringing it here. 

We have experience with a SFR in Huntsville, AL and wanted to get a feel for SFR opportunities here in Charlotte. Does anyone have any experience or insights for Charlotte local turnkey providers and property managers?

Can anyone recommend a turnkey provider that specializes in the Huntsville area and, if you have used them, what you liked best about their service? We live out of state, have one SFR in the Huntsvlle area, and are looking to add others.
