Post: Short Term Rental Management

I have a 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage style house in Lakeville, MA across from a beautiful Lake. I am renovating it, as my long term tenants have moved out.
I am thinking of doing short term rentals but want to rely on a STR management company, as I have no time nor desire to manage a STR. Does anyone have any recommendations for a local management company? Is it worth the added expense and risk?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi Melanie:
I purchased a SFH for $130K. I held onto it for about 8 years waiting for it to appreciate as it had seasonal water. I knew eventually it would be a year round house. I sold it for $125k, as I got tired of waiting for the water. Less than 2 years later it was year round and my buyer sold it for $325K.

Hello Everyone - I am a manager of a Massachusetts Investment Company and recently bought an investment property in Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida. I am interested in starting a relationship with a local banking institution in either Brevard or Polk County which is investor-friendly and not restricted by Fannie/Freddie Guidelines. I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you!

Legally you can simply deed the property. That's easy. The more complicated question is the tax consequences, if any. I would consult with a CPA.
