@Jeshua Patrick you honestly might just want to wait and not take the risk. There is moving guaranteed in real estate. If you were experienced and had the financial backing this would be a different story. Keep ur cash. The market is hot right now. There will be plenty more opportunities.

@Jeshua Patrick use the 20k in cash and other people’s money for the flip. Don’t use the 401k.

@Josh Copeland you are going to want to talk with your bank before proceeding in any direction. They will have everything you need to know about the note being potentially called. As for the accounting portion, it's not difficult.

@Eddie Quispe you would be able to add the land as part of your 'contribution' to the syndication deal. Depending on the type of syndication or structure it could be used as a basis for distributions, etc. You could also do a land lease and have someone else develop the property. This is very common and much easier.

@Mina G. for investment property taxes are always part of the ongoing ‘costs’ that the IRS allows a deduction for.

@Mina G. you are able to deduct the property tax on the investment property.

@Joseph Shaggs i would let the bank know ahead of time. Not that this is an issue but sometimes it can be. I have had issues where transferring into an LLC (owned by myself or as a partnership) and the bank will 'call' the loan. This is rare but it does happen.
