I actually had a real estate auditor come by my residence on Tuesday but the Columbus tax office people are very nice.

Business Ownership (starting a new business), stock market speculation and real estate speculation. I say speculation because your returns are going to have to be much bigger than average. That being said, you can become a millionaire over a longer period by doing all three.

@Arthur P. If you are buying rentals you better have a very long term time horizon. Commercial property shouldn’t be bought unless you are developing or have a 1031 exchange.

@CK Fiore most accountants will be able to teach you the basics. I wouldn’t get hung up or waste your time trying to become knowledgeable with taxes to start. You will learn as you go.
