We heard of a ranch style property that had a half bath added 2 years ago. Permits were not pulled. The plumbing checks out for leaks and pressure per a plumber testing it. If we buy it, what are the ramifications, if any?  It shows as a one bathroom on the tax rolls. Should permits be an issue when we look at property?

Now that I know how, I can thank you for sharing your knowledge and tell you I am grateful for the encouragement I received.

@Brandon Battle

@Daniel Wurl

Update -We decided to not build a closet as it would limit bed placement and, possible, seriously impede movement through the room. There is a niche we used as a guest closet but never covered. We custom built a barn door with a gorgeous stainless fixture and it looks marvelous. I wish we had done it sooner. Anyway, one really neat closet, voila!.

Update-  Thanks to you all for support, wisdom, and sharing your knowledge.

We decided to list it, along with creating a formal closet using a beautiful, stainless barn door over out "open" closet. Totally excited to use this money to create more RE opportunities. Wish us luck!
