Does anyone currently invest in short term rentals in Dallas and if so what are your thoughts on potential coming restrictions on short term rental properties in Dallas? Currently as far as I can tell Dallas doesn’t have any restrictions on short term rentals but from what I have read many homeowners seem to be upset with the crazy increase in short term rentals in that area. I’m curious if Dallas will become like Nashville where they outlaw str in certain zip codes. I’m aware that metro markets are a lot riskier than other markets just wondering if anyone has some insight or opinions thanks!

@Carlson Driver when you do this it is possible to trigger the "due on sale clause" meaning there is a slight possibility the bank could call your loan due because of the fact that they agreed to lend to you as individuals and not your LLC (it is looked at as a separate entity). Also yes that is the only benefit in holding it in an LLC is liability protection. You yourself are not personally responsible if someone were to sue you they could only come after the assets and money held by the LLC. Assuming they can't pierce the corporate veil in proving the LLC is in fact an alter ego of yourself .
