How's it going everyone?
Let me start out by saying that I am very new to real estate, I have been a member of BiggerPockets for about a week and I am planning on attending the BiggerPockets meetup in Irving this month.
So, I have been listening to the podcasts like crazy and they are crammed full of great advice it's unreal. I feel like there is a huge disconnect when listening to these, however, as I have never been a part of the process of buying a house.
How unheard of is it for an experienced investor to mentor a new investor, or let a new investor "shadow" them on a real estate deal, to show them how the whole process flows?

@Gautam Venkatesan Thanks for the greeting! It's great to hear of a monthly Dallas meetup. Is there a specific place I need to be on a lookout, or do I get an email about it based on my location?

How's it going BP!
Well, like the subject and my profile says, I am very new to the investing and real estate. I recently read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and the book got me thinking about whether investing in real estate is for me. Like anything in life, I realize you have to put forth time and effort if you want to be successful. As I believe that a solid foundation in any venture in life is key, this is the beginning of laying and building that foundation.
I found this site by watching the Eventual Millionaire podcast with BP's own, Joshua Dorkin, and decided to check it out. From what I have been exposed to so far, on this site, I am excited to start networking and surrounding myself with advice and knowledge from educated peers and finding my way in this market.
I hope to hear from you all soon. As I do more digging on this site, any advice on books, local real estate groups in Dallas or anything you feel would be great to get started with, is more than welcome!
