I agree with what previous replys have stated as far as the financing parts. I also can add that I like that area the home is located in and much growth has happened in the past few years there and in my belief will continue for the forseeable future. Hope that helps! 

@Stephanie Diemel Bartlett Grand Rapids Has a few similar Colleges like WMU in downtown Grand Rapids. One is GVSU and there is a few smaller ones some with Satellite campuses like MSU, Ferris, Thomas Cooley, Davenport. Just FYI.

"Might have another offer" is different then actually having another offer. Ask the agent to clarify at the time of the submission to be sure you are putting forth your best offer. Ask them if they did receive the "other offer" and how they will proceed with negotiations should they receive another offer after you submit yours. Ask them if they will be asking for a "highest and best" or are they just going to let the seller decide on one. 

I have been a Realtor for 14 years now and I never rely on the "might be submitting a offer" as 100% accurate until they actually receive the offer.

I do not have information to compare between Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids but I can tell you that Grand Rapids is going pretty good for the year although on the retail front things have seasonally adjusted due to the colder weather and kids going back to school-the usual things for this time of year. I do expect another big Spring in 2019!
