They are two different companies. Baselane is a banking, bookkeeping, and rent collection tool/service. Hemlane is a property management software. I use Baselane for banking, and a separate property management software.

I am a NJ PM owner and started using Baselane, as well, for its ease of setting up virtual accounts, transaction categorization, and overall organization. I am a fan, but I wish it would allow for the option to cash money orders for security deposits. Transfers between accounts are instantaneous, and the mobile check deposit works well. I haven't had any major issues, and customer support was quick to assist. We use a separate property management software for everything else, so I can't speak to the rent collection features.

Doorloop is also a good one. I've used Buildium as well. I would recommend both.

I switched from Buildium to Doorloop this year. I use it for my property management company in NJ. So far, I have no complaints. It's user friendly, with a modern design. Offers both tenant and owner portals. No auto-generated financial reporting, but owners can generate their own reports through their portals. One thing it's lacking is with its API integrations with 3rd parties. However, they do have Zapier integration. Customer service is A+. They offer data migration assistance for when you switch to their system, as well.

Hey Aaron,

Fellow property owner and property management company owner here. I used Buildium for a long time for my own properties, and recently switched to Doorloop. I would highly recommend both. Buildium has a lot more integrations with other services than Doorloop, but I found Doorloop to be a breeze and customer service to be exceptional.
