I'm with @Jim K. on this one.  I don't tip when I go into a restaurant and get takeout.  I tip when I sit there and eat the meal. I'm tipping for the service provided, not the meal.

I'm going to be me.  NO on both requests, and if that makes you not want to stay give proper notice and get the H out.  Don't care about your kids or your schooling or your career or your SAHM dedication.  My house, my rules.

Humans, man, they'll game the system.

Ours is in DE, because that's where our Rental Property is.

My wife and I have our rental property with another couple.  We have known them for 27 years and we have been talking about buying a beach house for a few years. Even with knowing them so well for so long, we had many frank, blunt conversations about household finances and our roles in the purchase process and then rental. We each (Couple) laid everything out and went through it all with each other and a separate financial professional that we paid to go over everything and tell us if it would work on both sides. This was back in Nov of 2017 when we made that purchase, and it has gone very, very well to date.  We are now in the process of saving for number 2, if everything comes together that could happen this fall.

It's working for us.

Hey! Does Harrisburg really have a vacation rental scene?

Actually, Cameron..maybe!  I have never looked into it. We might, because of the Senators Baseball team and a couple museums and HersheyPark 10 miles away...I would imagine Hershey is much better for that though.   Ours is a beach condo in Lewes/Rehoboth Delaware.   :)

In PA you do have to pay the full transfer tax, yes.  Sucks I know but there it is.

@Jim K.   WOW!

   Jim I am cutting and pasting that into my personal RE investing notes if you don't mind.  We do the short-term vacation rental thing but your post , I feel, has some "Stay strong and on the path" wisdom in it and I want to reference it going forward.   Thanks for the insight!!

I'm with Dawn here.

I wouldn't disclose it, because there is no such thing.

@Lindsey Vargas  Take this post as it is...coming from a neurotic psychopath who doesn't trust anyone.  I would at first want to yell "Stop that!!!!"  out my kitchen window at them because i know they will want something for it...eventually. But thinking from their side if it was me mowing, I would automatically do your side also...because if I stopped at "Our half" I would NEVER be able to get the mowed line straight and it would cause me to lose sleep and get out the plumb bobs and laser sights and do it right. (at 2:17 am)

   Now if your yard is 3 acres you're on your own!  But a small duplex front & backyard wouldn't even be an issue for me, I'd just put in the extra 15 minutes of my Sunday and hit yours too if I got out there first.  You guys weed the beds this week, I'll knock out the grass.

:)
