@Drew Sygit Thanks for the reply. I do plan on using a general property management contract. I just wanted to confirm that there wasn't something I was overlooking. Thanks.

Does anyone have any input on the contract you would use with the property owner when starting short-term rental management?

I'm going to manage a short-term rental for my mother-in-law, and I can't find what I think is an appropriate contract. Are folks using "general" property management contracts and just changing terms? Example, tenant to a guest?

I appreciate the feedback.

I think my property taxes are to high and I think I need a lawyer, maybe.

So my property is in Columbus, Ohio area and when I built I was quoted a tax rate of 3k. Now my taxes are 6k. When I called the town I was basically threatened that my takes will be even higher if I challenged my tax assessment.

Looking for some advice on the first steps. At this point I'm looking at getting a lawyer and my personal assessment, maybe? Kinda stuck 😕.

@Dan DiFilippo thanks for taking the time out to respond, municipal solvency is new to me.

I've already found a couple articles to read on the topic. I guess I have some light reading today.

@Jack Orthman I very much apperciate you sharing your knowledge and giving examples. As I was reading your response I noticed you dropped a ton of gems. Felt like there was a theme to be involved and hands on. (My goal) I'll continue to do my due diligence to "learn the math". Again, I appreciate your advice and taking time out to respond.

Also, I must say... your examples are motivational. I know I need to put in the work and time. It hard to see what is possible when you don't have the exposure of seeing the process being done or done well.

My dad has an entrepreneurial spirt and bought a triplex when I was young. Because of my mother's fear (she didn't see the vision) they sold. My dad is standing by to help me in anyway he can. But I know he wishes he could have provided the foundation. My point... what your doing is where I want to be and I appreciate the glimpse into what can be possible with serious effort, drive and vision.

@Marc Bhuyan thanks for taking the time to respond. I've added this to my "research list" (it's getting long).
