The SBREIA topic for March 20, 2017 is Section 8, the Federal housing assistance program. Bobby Collins, Executive Director of Caddo Parish Housing Authority and Mr. Kennith Starnes, Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the Bossier Parish will be our speakers. This is a topic that has been requested by many of our members. They will discuss how to become a Section 8 Landlord, how reasonable rental rates are arrived at, the Tenant's and Landlord responsibilities and much more.

@Joseph Champion you can absolutely bring your partner on Monday. Yea, there's no obligation to join the group or pay any dues the first meeting you go to. Come check it out and get some great info and if you guys decide to come back for the March meeting, then we would ask you to join at that point. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Hey Joe,

Sounds like a cool deal. I've dealt with some lenders that will incorporate the rehab costs into the loan, but it has to be at an 80% after repair value. e.g. if you would need $90k for the property and rehab costs, the appraisal would need to come in at $112,500 after the repairs are complete. If you're confident that those numbers would works, I can definitely refer you to a lender that might be able to help. Also, I thought I would let you know about a local REI meet up that is on Monday. The speaker is a commercial lender that works with investor's. You might be able to get some good info from that as well.
