Newbie Dyryl Burnett here! I'm strongly desiring to do my first deal as a owner occupied "buy and hold" in Chicago, IL. I know the value and understand the needs for "comps" for a certain block or neighborhood, but I have no idea of how to get comps at all. I have not landed on any place in particular, but I have time before I return back to work to learn about it! I desire to rehab the mystery property (really looking at REOs), IF NEED BE, but really want to learn how that process works.

Could someone please help me out! Much gratitude!

I am Dyryl (Der-rell) Burnett and I am excited to be here! I have been looking into becoming a Real Estate Investor (Rental Properties & Flips) for a few years now and actually have some experience as a Project Engineer of flipping two properties. With all the questions I have accumulated over the years, many of those questions were answered after watching all of Brandon's YouTube videos; thus landing me here.

I am currently in the Education Field (Dean of a CPS Elementary School), but I have reached the boiling point of wanting to have a fulfilling and happy career (thanks Dave Ramsey, Property Brothers, Scott Mcgillivray and Mike Holmes)! Also, establishing more streams of income for my family is essential! Really want to dive in and learn as much as possible, while simultaneously preparing my finances and time to position myself into this field. 

Are there any Chicago REI's? If so, meet your new member! Hope I can help with any knowledge I know and vice versa. Also, I am a media guy (audio engineer, video recording and editing, etc). Be blessed and looking forward to the endless possibilities. . .
