yes!! Online events or groups.
Thanks so much @Kristina Kuba. This is very helpful. Sounds like putting together the right team and using tools to stay on top of things are keys to success.
Have one property in Upstate NY and searching in Tampa/St Pete/Sarasota, Florida at the moment.
I am a newer investor with one STR and one more under construction. I am looking to expand my portfolio but am currently working overseas. Is it possible to conduct inspections, do rehabs and close on deals from outside the US? Is it reasonable to expect I could move forward or is it advisable that I continue learning and research and wait until we return to the US?
Thanks !
Elizabeth

I am a real estate investor currently stationed oversees for work in the USG. Wondering if there are opportunities for online networking with folks in Upstate NY. I have one STR outside Buffalo and looking to expand my portfolio there--would appreciate any tips about great online networking opportunities in the area. Thanks!

@Elizabeth Conklin did you make any progress on this? And... no offense intended... but my reaction when I saw this was to be worried about your financial situation since you're saying $12K breaks this for you. Is this your first investment?
Thanks Nicolas. I may have misspoke--most of the conventional lenders were requiring 30%--which takes it to about 36K plus additional investment for renovations, which makes it a tougher sell. I did find alternative financing options and in the process of inspecting to refine renovation costs.

Thanks Isaac and Stephanie. Yes--the cabin is in a hot short term rental market where I currently own another rental, which has done quite well. Agreed--the level of repairs will determine whether returns are viable. Super appreciate the thoughtful questions.

Try other lenders
I know upen Patel who is on BP has different types of loan programs with lower down payment requirements.
Awesome-thanks for the reference! I clearly need to be more persistent and seek out additional lending options. Super appreciate steering me in the right direction!
