Quote from @Judy Foster:
as an investor in the notes, I can say that yes we knew what it was and that it was risky, but wanted to try something a little different.  Marco's team told us he was using the funds to fund his ecommerce businesses as well as the mastermind and training/speaking programs.  Also funding broadway play prodctions and other irons he had in the fire.  Now that he has converted the notes to "stock" in the "company", I do not expect the payments to be resumed at all and am just hoping we will get the remainder of the principal back out...but not holding my breath!  Put it down in the stupid tax column and the cost of learning about the different types of alternative invesements that are out there.  As I said, we knew it was pushing the envelope, but thought we would try and see!  Please keep the comments coming on what folks find out....I too got Marco to send a follow up email that didn't really clarify anything.  Then a few days later got another email asking if we wanted to invest in another note program!!

Hi Judy,

I commend you on the risk you took outside of RE and understanding of that risk.

Sometimes we win, sometimes we loose.

As long as we win more than we loose in the long run.

Most times whenever I tried something out of RE, it didn't turn out well but such is life.

I suggest only investing in your area of competence and understanding.

Being a "Jack of all trades" sounds cool on paper but reality is a different picture.

I wish everything works out well for all involved.

Thanks

Hi Engelo!

Thank you for your advice.  I have decided to shift market as I was not finding anything that cashflow.  I decided to look into Georgia and South Carolina, now those two are landlord friendly state.  So far, I see I get more for the money.

My pleasure and wishing you much success

I am not a debt investor, a bond investor nor am I an investor in corporate debt, private equity debt, peer to peer lending, etc.  I am an investor in debt DIRECTLY secured by REAL ESTATE.

I have enough problems correctly underwriting real estate debt; I can’t imagine the problems I’d have trying to CORRECTLY analyze risk in private equity corporate deals based on the revitalization of bankrupt brands.

Even wall st guys miss  these things  right .  I know anytime I have gotten away from my core (RE) its not ended well for me..

So true and 100% agreed with you both

Lost my A$$ almost every time I touched something not RE related lol

You’re right. Keep your focus on how many crappy properties you can buy each year, instead of buying fewer but better properties. Focus on “scaling quickly.” Collect properties instead of money. It’s a winning strategy…..

Way back when BP started, before we used our real names, a prominent guy on here named Mike in OH said "focus on your ROI, not your door count". You are investing for return on capital.

Someone had congratulated him for how many doors he had in Cbus and he pointed out that he was collecting rents in cash with a pistol and his day to day was anything but fun.

I am always on the look out for users who have been on the site longer than me.  I haven't found many still around.  I'm not sure there are any with joined dates older than yours still on the site!  The site has changed tremendously.  Glad to see there are still some original voices on here.

Why thank you Sir. I originally found BP to help myself nagivate the waters of RE. Now I am here to help others, though I do still learn daily.

I remember studying your business model early on through your posts and early podcast episodes. We also met at the speaker's dinner at J. Martin's RE Summit in Oakland in ~2018. If I remember you left your family in Vegas at a birthday celebration to come speak. Now that is service! Cheers to you.

I was at that J Martin event I miss his events  fun guy.

Lori and you picked me up in the Tesla and we almost ran over a homeless guy in Oakland hahaha

I had forgotten that part.. I remember though you and I talking with Chris.. he invited me to visit his office in memphis which I did later in the year.. Boy his staff was first class all the way.

Not me mate,

F@$# it tho.

I'll just show up one day and knock on his door haha

Teach him how to play football and not how you Yankee's call it "soccer" hahaha

My fault, I thought you knew the invitation was open!  You're always welcome to visit. It's the best way for us to grow as companies by sharing what works and what doesn't.  I've been expanding my business investments and interests.  If you make it to Memphis, we invest pretty heavily in the youth club game down here and our non-profit, Cancer Kickers Soccer Club, is the first non-profit to be on the jersey of a professional soccer team, 901 FC of the USL.  We'll go check out the operations.  Soccer is an awesome sport and great teacher for kids.

Chris,

It would be an honor mate.

Let me know when and where and I'll be there.

Croatia vs Italy starting soon so gotta watch that since I spent a large part of my life in Croatia and all of my family is still there.

Forza Italia haha

ps. Let's just say I know a thing or to about soccer/football and my good friend is Luka Modric's best man so it was interesting having a conference call and advising with both of them on some brand strategy for Luka hehe 🤠

He's not the best Luka. forza italia! Mattia clutch. With that said @Luka Jozic you literally got the cream of the crop in regards to advice. Take it for what it's worth.

Disappointed mate

Two games now conceded goals in stoppage time.

Such is life.

If not Croatia, I'm an Italy fan.

Aussie's suck always haha

Exactly! This has also been on my bizarre investment watch list, that's why I'm so fascinated by these current developments. I even wondered if I should get in and out for one year before it blew up, but good thing I passed on that idea.

Quote from @Michael Haynes:

Angelo Rumora, What you believe means nothing. Long Term success in the US Economy being able to Grow in a Declining Globalist World requires waiting ten to forty years. Shorter term Investors searching Alpha or a Passive, positive return on their Money use one Year Corporate Bonds to pay the bills. What you predict with the 30yr Bond is the same thing as all the Banks, like Silicon Valley Bank, who Bought the Long Bond at 1.2% and then the Fed raised the Interest Rate. All of their Account Holders went to the Bank to Close their Accounts! Learn the lesson. You don't go Long when you have Short term obligations to pay. I concentrate on the Daily Market Movements. I Mico-scalp the S&P eMini for Ticks. A good day is $1000 or more, Trading for two hours in the mornings. A good day is any day you are Break even or Better. Close down End of Day and sleep well. With Directional Options on the SPY you Risk $100 to make $1000 until you have enough to Risk $1000 to make $10,000. My Buy and Hold Investment for 40 years was Real Estate.

What I believe in means everything to me...

So you're a gambler then?

I consider short term trading the same as gambling.

I prefer investing long term. Be it stocks or real estate.

If I want to gamble, I'll go to Vegas and loose quickly on the slots so I can have a cigar and enjoy a cocktail.

Much success

Is anyone filing a complaint with the SEC or FINRA against Norada?

probably way to early to do that.. dont you think ?  I mean has anyone proven that something was not disclosed or done against SEC rules ?

Everything I can find on this "notes investing" reads to me as CLO investing.

And I think it may be more a matter of people jumping into CLO investing without really knowing or comprehending what they were even doing, as crazy as that sounds.

Really ? CRE CLO is still regulated though. So CLO is still typically investing inside real estate, but this company seems operating more like fund manager/unregulated private equity when they invested to REV,

It has been a while Norada and Lane was on my "bizarre investment" watch list with their return level of post-usury level that can't be beaten or understood in this market in 21st century.

I was think before Norada is more like Peer Street , but no, he's more advanced than that. Even PS blowing up is not really news, it was expected.

What is inside the book of Norada really ?

No, from what I read the "notes" (CLO's) were completely separate from the real estate operations of things.

And I found one business strategy talking about turning RadioShack into a crypto clearing house...

Nothing I found makes any real business sense to be honest.

I was at a business dinner in NYC mid 2017 with a few Wall St guys and they said they would plow their retirement funds into Overstock (Beyond).

Similar concept, changed from e-commerce to crypto exchange.

They are still around and price is at what is was in 2017 although it did 10x at one point during crypto moon in 2021.

So I guess it is possible but highly unlikely IMO

these kind of super return can only be done legally if you sell zepbound or nvidia H100 GPU lol lol

i hope nobody among us would be an actor inside next episode of netflix's 'American Greed' lol

Charge $100 for the template and check off list.  I think most of these bad investment investors aren’t learning.
