Thanks @Denisse Mendez. I'll look into seeking a public adjuster.

@Sam Shueh I just called the Baltimore City Police department. An officer will me back. I'll see what transpires.

Hi Ned,
I am confused as well @Ned Carey with the logic from BGE.
The property is vacant. It's being rehabbed. I have spoken with a rep from BGE. Their logic is that since its my property, I am responsible for the thief of their utilities. What I don't understand is how they have been able to amass a bill into four figures, not get paid and suddenly assess the home owner.
I think that its a billing issue that needs to resolved.

My insurance company will not renew my vacant property policy after an insurance claim for stolen gas and electrical services from BG&E in Baltimore, Maryland. This leaves me in a precarious situation since the I need home owners insurance on the property. Is this legal? Can the any home owners insurance company simply refuse to renew a policy after a claim is made and even before that claim is settled? Should I seek legal counsel and or contact some insurance commission?

I am looking for a recommendation for a company that specializes in doing, light to medium turnover cleaning and repairs for rental properties in Baltimore City.
I currently have one property that needs to be assessed.
Thanks,
Erick

I've witnessed some of that type of vandalism when looking at some foreclosures. That's really one of the worst things that can be done to a property.
