My thoughts exactly, although kicking around the site I did see an article recommending use of the standard state form. Since most deals, successful or not, don't end up in court it is tough to argue the strength or weakness of the standard vs. any other form. Try telling that to my risk averse lawyer! Thanks for the reply Curt.

Hi and thanks for the shot at working with everyone! I am Matt Herrington from Islip town in Suffolk County on Long Island in New York. Let me know if anyone needs some local knowledge. I am a part time salesperson, Realtor with MLS access. I am looking forward to some good info exchange as I get rolling. Right now I am looking for my first deal and have posted about the types of wholesaling contracts that may be working for everyone out there. I wish everyone success! - Matt [email protected]

My lawyer is hammering me about not using the standard NY contract for wholesaling (revised to be assignable). He feels buyers will be less likely to pick up the contract unless they see the standard form. Should you use the standard REA form?
