Hello Kevin and Welcome, I'm also kinda new at this , I just closed a triplex deal on Friday as my first investment, wictch was great going into 38th birthday for me. In the last two years I have added 300 to 500 Sq ft. To 3 different houses, my own my parents and a friend. I have priced construction, and in in Los Angeles you're looking at $125 to $170 per Sq. Ft. + permits.
Best luck , hope this helps

Great discussion, Will, I also have 457 ( deferred comp. Plan ) that I'm using as my reserves on triplex investment conventional loan. Just signed the loan Docs yesterday. Scheduled to close Friday.
My lender just required a copy of terms on the account. I was able to get that from the website, very generic just states that you are able to withdraw up to 50 %of total amount, in form of a loan to yourself. Pretty much what Brian
Commented above.
Happy to share lender if you need it.
I'm in California but I belive my lender is nation wide.
Best luck.

Hello bp, I'm about to go into escrow on my first investment property. I wanted to ask advice on putting this property in my own name or LLC.?
Is it better to purchase in my name then switch to an LLC.
I have heard you can create an LLC. On legal zoom
Is this a good option?
What other service out there can be used to create an LLC.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCED BP.

Thanks Eric, my first option is to invest here in cali, I believe it has the most upside, however I have looked at AZ and TX rental market and the numbers seem strong, good returns and mostly less money to get in. But your right ,the mountains are hard to get over, but I look forward to that day,.
Thanks again I appreciate advice, look forward to learning and investing. I welcome future advice.
