Hi Jack,

We have been a year in the USA and learned the following.

Get some credit cards on your personal name ASAP to start building credit. We even had to start depositing funds in the bank which were blocked to be able to get a credit card - its called a secured credit card. After 1 year you paying off the CC, this will be converted to unsecured cc and you will have your money released.

We also have CC on the company name but this doesnt help with your personal credit building.

Best is you get 2 or 3 lines of credit asap (credit cards, car loans, purchasing items like appliances on credit and paying of in time...this will build your credit.

In order to get a mortgage, most banks are questing 2 or 3 lines or credit older than  1 year.

Any case, there might be other ways but this is my experience

please feel free to reach out if any other q's

Hi Dan,

Could you explain a bit how you got the E2 visa with real estate? Did you start a real estate company or property management company?  Did you buy an apartment block and get the visa by managing this?

Would be interesting to hear hoe other do this?

Thx

Frederic

Hi Dan

I would love to hear more about your process on getting the E2 visa with real estate investing.

I'm currently looking myself for a way to do this and relocate from Belgium to Jacksonville, Fl.

Thanks a lot

Hi Emre,

It seemed that it was getting too complicated getting this through and too much of a risk with my hard earned money.

So I quit this and I found employment with a US company and waiting for visa.

This way I will be able to live in the States, get to know the area and then get into the property market

Newbie from Belgium relocating to the US on E2 visa in the coming months.

I'm 43 with wife and 2 great kids.

Looking to partner up to start buying - fixing - renting out and flipping properties.

We have not set a location yet but preferred locations would be Florida, Texas, North Carolina but all suggestions are welcome.

Also advise on good immigration lawyer is welcome.

I'll be coming over to the US in 2 weeks and like to meet some great people.

Thanks a lot

Frederic

Hi Benoit,

I'm just new to this blog and read your post.

How did it work out for you? Did you move to the States?

Actually, I'm also Belgian and looking at doing the same on E2 visa
