Who here invests because they want to as a hobby? I enjoy my full time job but would like a hobby and investing has always been an interest of mine, it is much easier to get involved with stock investing and I have been fairly successful.
Is your main goal for investing to get rich or get off the W2 or for a hobby (Pure Enjoyment)

Greetings!
Curious to know how the investors on this blog research local areas for investments.
Items such as the macro economics; net migration, income growth, job creation and more difficultly the soft areas which such as; crime, pride in ownership, etc....
In the past when purchasing personal property I would picture myself living in the area, proximity of shopping, store availability, proximity to highways, traffic, restaurants and also new investment in commercial retail (I always thought if Walmart wanted to invest $10 million into a Neighborhood Market purchasing a SFH in the area is also a smart choice) they have done a lot more research than I ever would be able to perform myself.

Don't let money be your motivation, you have to thoroughly enjoy real estate to be the most effective. I am a seasoned equity/option buyer and want to expand my horizons for the simple fact I enjoy the challenge. However, money was NEVER the motivation, it is the reward, for some, the benchmark.

Beautiful fix! Curious about the kitchen, appears to be painted/refurbished? Did you perform the work?
What were some of the costs involved to get you to the 28k value?
