Hi Jill,

Did you eventually replace your water submeter by products of assured automation? What's your experiences? Are you able to do the get rid of the sumetering company?

I am evaluating similar options available in Columbus Ohio.

Thanks!

Geoffrey

Since then I have looked into it further and am looking into a product by assured automation at the website flows.com (no affiliation) that will allow me to get the info on the internet with either wifi or if not available, a yearly cell subscription. The submeters are less than $100 and the gateway which can control a large number of submeters is $1000. These submeters can be installed by my handyman. Mike at flows.com was VERY knowledgeable and helpful. My buildium software makes it easy for me to charge water bills so I don't need a billing company.

I did not want to use a submetering company with provided equipment that charges a each tenant a surcharge depending on the level of service that they provide.

Hello Everyone,

I own a multifamily in Columbus Ohio. The water bills are a big cost to me. I am thinking about installing submeters for the property. Anyone had any experiences/recommendations/advises in this regard? Thanks in advance!

Geoffrey

@Matt Stewart Thanks for the detailed info. It helps me to know the area a lot more!

@Matt Stewart Thanks for the responses. I am glad that I can get insights from someone who lives in the immediate area.

You mentioned to be cautious of anything north of 70 and west of Brice Rd. Looks like there are quite a few hotels and stores immediately to the west of Brice Rd. What about the area South of 70 and west of Brice Rd all the way to Noe Bixby Rd. ?

Geoffrey

@Trent Ecklar Great Comparison. Thanks!

@Trent EcklarPleasure meeting you here as well. Indeed Columbus real estate has been doing great for the last couple of years.  Can you share more on why you believe that Columbus is positioned to be the next Austin TX or Denver CO?

I heard that Westerville and Gahanna are good areas. But people cautioned me about getting into Linden, Hilltop/Westgate area, especially for out of state investors. Can you share why you look at those area differently?

Thanks!

Geoffrey
