Welcome, Sonya! Can you provide more details? Partner is building strs on land and you want to lease vs own them?

Focus on having good boots on the ground and then keep scaling up.  I invest where the numbers work, not how close the property is to me.

I actually have only read 1, and can't say I recommend it.  I downloaded Optimize YOUR Bnb: The Definitive Guide to Ranking #1 in Airbnb Search after hearing good things, but haven't read it yet.

I have learned so much by reading these forums. I also recommend doing that. Set up key words to follow like "Airbnb" "Vacation Rental", "STR", STRP, etc.

Right market would mean closer to a city or destination area correct? That’s what I would assume. High tourist areas.

yes. And I prefer tourism areas that have been doing this a while instead of metro areas that don't depend on the tourism for their economy. Those laws can change anytime for STR.

If you have the upfront costs, str cash flow is great in the right market. And easy to learn.

Yeah like has been mentioned, this stuff is not a hard and fast science.  Mileage varies with different lenders.  I'm looking to purchase in the spring, and  I think mine is going to count a property I've only had for a year toward my income.  Congrats on your growth.
