I agree with Bill. I would stay away from purple. I saw a door that was as pink as your shirt once. I wouldn't go that route either.

Offer to pay her $10 for every showing if the place is clean. Yes, it would've cost you $50, but one of those five people might have rented it.

This thread is so old that the original players could all be bankrupt by now. The housing bubble burst and I don't know of any apartment financing with 10% down.

I was going to mention Dave Ramsey also. One thing I like is that he says "Every dollar has a name". You need to account for every dollar and find a way to save some. He also says, "The only time you should see the inside of a restaurant is if you're working there."

Cash is king in this business. I would also advise against going into business with a guy you aren't married to and his parents. Sounds like a recipe for disaster from the start.

Mike Smith If you are doing a short sale, that means you have a hardship and can't afford the house. If you can't afford the house, how do you plan to purchase it? It sounds like maybe you can afford this house, you just don't want to pay back the money that you borrowed and promised to repay.

Just because the house went down in value and now you have negative equity, does not mean it is B of A's fault. The market went down for everyone. Sounds like you are pulling a weasel move.

This is an interesting topic. I will also add a disclaimer: I consider myself to be a Libertarian, but I have a lot of conservative views. I voted for Ron Paul in the primary and will definitely be voting against Obama. I'm not a big fan of Romney, but I have been a fan of Paul Ryan for years.

As far as being better off, I am better off. I don't think it has to do with who the president is. I get up every day and go to work. I save my money and live on way less than I make. When I look around, I don't see people doing as well. I have had many friends and family memebers go through job losses. They are now working for less money. The economy is a mess. While it seems to have gotten better, all signs point to another recession.

My biggest concern is the debt. The baby boomers have bankrupted this country. I have two small children and they are going to have to pay the piper one day when this spending party ends. There is no way we can stay on this same track that we are on. Deep cuts are going to have to be made across the board. I think there is going to be massive inflation in this country.

2008 was scary. I think the president tends to get too much blame for a bad economy and too much credit for a good economy.

The bottom line is that more jobs will improve the economy. Jobs are created in the private sector. The private sector will hire when the government has less regulations and lower taxes.

The police will do that if it is parked on the street. I don't think they will do that if it is parked on private property (your parking area).

True. I had a tenant leave a car in a agarage once. I called a towing company and they picked up the car for free. They were going to notify the previous owner to come get it, or auction it off if it wasn't claimed.

Did the tenant give you the keys? If so, I would say all that stuff is garabge left behind. You said the car is unregistered. Does that mean the license plate is expired? If yes, call the police and say there is an abandoned car. They should put a sticker on it saying it needs to be moved and will then tow it if it's still there.

You could also fix the drywall and then measure his wheelchair to see where it will hit the wall. Install a 1x4 or 2x4 piece of wood horizontally where the chair will hit and paint it. This will keep the drywall from being damaged again.
