@John Woodrich thanks for the response and good information. When you say the “firm you left,” does that mean you’re not a practicing CPA anymore?

I own a few multi-family properties in Minneapolis/St.Paul and am looking for a good accountant who can maximize tax breaks and help plan for future investments.

Hello, I am an aspiring real estate investor and have questions about getting my real estate license. I have not started investing, as I am still in college, and plan on starting as soon as I get a full time job. I will have free time over winter break and I am wondering if it is worth while to become a licensed real estate agent. I know I will save closing costs, and have access to the MLS. Is this worth the couple thousand in costs to get licensed..???

Interesting point. Some people I've spoke to were surprised to hear school's even offered a MBA in real estate. I am getting a degree in civil engineering so I will have a full time job. Real estate will be my "side-hustle" to start, so taking MBA classes would take away from what little time I have to invest anyway.

Just trying to weigh my options, might be better just to hit the ground running..
