@Nick Peters Thanks for the information. I will check them out!

@Matthew Lopez Thanks, Matthew. Stay safe!

Even if you are not ex-military, you can still join PenFed by donating small amount for US military. I believe I donated $17 few years ago when I joined it for my autoloan about 4 years ago.

@Jaysen Medhurst Hi! I currently live in Farmington and for the investment, I am thinking surrounding area about 1 hr from my house to start with. I am looking for $100k duplex for BRRR and do most of the rehab by myself and with few sub contractors.

If I do not sell the properties, maybe I don't really need RE license? I saw one website says that LLC needs RE license to be rent out properties. (Maybe that meant renting someone else's property?)
I've also read many articles about LLC for real estate investment has to get proper licenses for it and it looks very gray area to me. I've read through state license website and I couldn't find any required license related to BRRR.

Thanks for the tip. I will do some more research.

I would like to ask you why you chose "buy and hold" strategy. Reiterate what your strength is and find a way to practice it safely. As many people already mentioned, buying a first house can teach you a lot you haven't thought or considered.

Happy Saturday, BP family.

My name is Jaehan and I'm from CT. I've been working at manufacturing companies for last 15 years and COVID-19 got me laid off. I'm taking this as an opportunity for my next step as a RE investor. I've been doing woodworking and remodeling as a hobby for last 10 years and quite enjoy doing it.

I set up LLC and now I am taking class to get RE license. But, I just realized that there are ton of things I don't know to run this gig myself. It will be great if I can find someone who already took this path or maybe a comrade who can share knowledge and experience.

Have a nice weekends and stay safe!

Hi, BP families.

I've been following BP for several months and got laid off few months ago. I am taking it as an opportunity to start my business for real estate investor. I formed single member LLC and getting EIN next week. Once I open up bank account, I will transfer the seed money to get the business started.

I knew that real estate license is a good to have, so I am taking a class to get it, but this got to me thinking about other types of licenses as well. I've been doing a lot of woodworking and re modelings in my home, so I know how works should be done. But, am I allowed to fix or remodel LLC owned property? What kind of licenses should I get in order to operate the business under LLC?
