@Brian Loibl

Congratulations on getting your first duplex in NE. That’s great and glad to hear it’s going well!

I do agree with you though. It’s easy to get pulled in all directions and get stuck without taking action. That was a big problem for me. That’s actually why I went away from real estate for a bit, because my passion for health and wellness was much higher. So I’ve been solely focusing on my education and business for that outside of my full time job.

But, now that we sold our house, the next step we want to take is house hacking so trying to ease back in without getting pulled in too many directions.

I'd be happy to chat sometime about REI and your house hacking experience.

@Bruce Runn I’ll keep you posted on that. Not my wife’s ideal location but I know we also can’t be too picky. I’ll PM you if we’re interested. Thank you!

@Will Fraser thank you! Glad to hear you have found success with your house hacking journey.

I am constantly rewriting my why and trying to live by it. That’s great advice and definitely one of the most important things for everyone to figure out!

Hey everyone!

I’ve kind of put real estate on the back burner these last few years but my wife and I sold our house in March and are now looking to purchase a duplex to house hack.

I wanted to reintroduce myself here. I am Jake, and I’m a police officer in the metro area. I am interested in creating multiple streams of income through real estate and an online business I am currently starting as well.

I would love to get back into networking so I’d love to hear of any events in the future that I’m sure are virtual now. But, if there any coming up, I’d love to try and attend.

I’m hoping to purchase something in the next few months and would love to hear your thoughts on the market currently.

Thanks everyone and I’m looking forward to get to know you!

Hey Patrick!

A few tips on the determining what type a home may be would be to check Realtor.com (I have found that to be more accurate). It will say either single family or multi-family. Try downloading apps such as Homesnap which is one of my favorite apps for looking at properties. Also network with local agents in the area. I would be happy to research a property for you anytime if needed if you can't find information on it. Just message or text me the address!

Good Luck!

Anna Gorres Columbia Heights actually has a lot more duplexes and four-plexes than you would think. I am super familiar with the area and especially the crime rate in the city so feel free to message me if you questions regarding the area.
