Each month we bring in a guest to share their experience as it relates to financial education and/or real estate investing. This meetup will offer actionable items you can start implementing to reach your financial goals. We top it off with a book give away related to this month's theme and a ton of opportunity to network with others that are on their way to financial independence! We welcome members of all experience levels.

This month, our guest speaker is Brandon Bettis! Brandon was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and attended Arizona State University. Upon graduation in 2005, he joined the United States Army and served as an active duty Infantry Officer until 2016. During that time, he got married, had two daughters, deployed to Afghanistan and held various leadership roles within the Army. In 2016, Brandon and his family moved back home to Peoria, AZ and Brandon started his career in financial services. Brandon focuses his time and energy in “helping others that want help”. He accomplishes this through holistic financial planning, mentorship, peer counseling, and faith.

I run a local meetup called FREEdM - Financial + Real Estate Education Meetup. Our goal is to create a culture of like minded individuals to learn and grow in all things relating to personal finance, investing, real estate, personal development, etc. We also just started a subgroup specifically for Veterans. Welcome to the BP! You're in the right place to get started and learn as much as you can about this business.

Appreciate your service! It's always good to see fellow Veterans getting into investing (Go Army!). You are on the right path, start local, learn, network, grow and expand from there. The VA loan is an incredible tool and can really help launch your investing career. I have used my VA loan multiple times and it has been a tremendous help in my journey. There is absolutely nothing wrong with starting with a SF over a small MF. Our market is tough to find a small MF that makes sense and is something you would want to live in as well. We have been in 3 SF over the past 3 years and have done incredibly well with each. Now we are acquiring MF in a different market (still AZ just outside the greater Phoenix area).

We have an amazingly collaborative community here in Phoenix. There are all sorts of meetups all over the valley on any other niches in Real Estate. I run my own monthly meetup called FREEdM and we just launched a subgroup that will be specific to Veterans and the benefits available to them. I will include the links to our next events for you to check out! I will shoot you a request so we can connect further!
