@Jeremiah Leonard I personally do not like stocks and bonds. I feel like they are to volitile in some cases if not paying attention to it 24/7. RE Is a great way to invest your money. I would rather invest into RE then put the money into the bank where you get your .001 interest. It is a great way to start, you will make income off of owning the property and renting it as well as building equity. In return creating a tax write off for yourself. In age where single people making decent incomes get KILLED in taxes while trying to make a life for yourself. Just my out look on it. So what i guess what ime trying to say your on a great track, totally believe in RE.

@Carlos Rodrigues I believe you are able to get a HELOC with a property in an LLC, but i believe you have to get the HELOC then put the property into the LLC. Also, if you decide to put the property in your name and get the HELOC I would make sure u have an umbrealla policy big enough to cover your properties or anything that you own. From what i hear it sounds like you have multiple properties. If your properties are under an LLC you can always fold the corp. HOWEVER, With it being under your name u can open yourself up. Just make sure your protected.

@Kevin Fonda The person who was asked to leave, is the tenant friendly with or are they not talking? Can you ask the tenant to get the key back? Maybe she would be able to get it back before you decide to change locks?

@Steve DellaPelle I don't know if there is shame in it because it depends on your situation. But I can say for sure I would never do that.

@Eric Burgh I think in the same terms as @Russell Brazil. BUT Putting aside the facts that are the amount of money and percentages, etc. My family lends money to each other sometimes and the few times I have seen it has worked rather nicely they get paid back in a timely fashion. SAYING THAT! That is if your family can look at this as just a business transaction. Knowing they have to pay you back by a certain time and a contract is made up.

I also agree with @Von S. from your situation it seems that it is a relationship situation. Choosing to give the money to your family is easy. I think you need to figure it out with your wife first it seems.

@Luke H. Glad to see you progress is going well! I agree with @Billy Smith as well. Just be careful when the company is laying the plywood on the beams they are laying them staggered it makes the roof strong and helps ensure less leaks. Dependent on the company when laying the shingles they need to "step up" the shingles as well as use 4-8 (again dependent on the company) nails per shingle so it ensures good hold in the roof just some quick tips.

@Robert Leon You could use craigslist. What I would recommend is just do driving for dollars in the area you are looking in and just look for forsale signs and just contact the owners or knock on doors.
